Advent means coming.  And in the season of Advent we prepare ourselves to celebrate the coming of Jesus in His birth that first Christmas.  We also think about Jesus coming on the Last Day.  And for those who believe, who have been called to walk in the light of Christ, Advent brings hope, sure and certain hope in what Jesus has done, when He continues to do, and what He will do.  And we who believe, are called to be ready at all times for the days of Christ's second coming.

As we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the disciples who then spoke in other languages the Good News of Jesus, we remember that we are here because of the Holy Spirit at work in our own life and because of that first Pentecost.
