Piotr Sobolczyk – badacz literatury, krytyk literacki, tłumacz, poeta, pisarz, kompozytor i wokalista. Debiutował w 2002 tomem Samotulenie, kolejne to Homunculus (2005), Dywan Pierrota (2009), Obstrukcja insługi (2014), 100% Arabica / chiNOISEry (2015), Wydechy z bezrybocia (2022). Ponadto dwie książki prozatorskie, w tym Opowieści obrzydliwe. 5 albumów muzycznych, muzyka filmowa, pseudoklasyczna. Naukowo autor Tadeusza Miciińskiego podróż do Hiszpanii (2005), dyptyk o Białoszewskim Dyskursywizowanie Białoszewskiego (2013 i 2014), Queerowe subwersje (2015), Polish Queer Modernism (2015), Gotycyzm – modernistyczny sobowtór odmieńca (2017), The Worldview – the Trope – and the Critic (2018), w przygotowaniu Tajne przez Białoszewskie. Przełożył traktat barokowy Baltasara Graciana wraz z antologią poezji Siglo de Oro (2020). Współtworzył rocznik MiroFor (ukazuje się w Gdańsku). Wykładał gościnnie na Sorbonie, w Oslo, Sewilli, Clermont Ferrand, Neapolu, Mediolanie i innych. Pracuje w IBL PAN.  

Piotr Sobolczyk przebywał w Gdańsku na zaproszenie Instytutu Kultury Miejskiej w ramach projektu Rezydencje literackie w Gdańsku. W ramach cyklu podcastów literackich Piszę w Gdańsku z osobami będącymi na rezydencjach literackich w Gdańsku rozmawia Ana Matusevič.

Piotr Sobolczyk started as a poet and writer. He published 5 books of poems: "Samotulenie", "Homunculus", "Dywan Pierrota", "Obstrukcja insługi", "100% Arabica / chiNOISEry"; and 2 books of narrative: "Opowieści obrzydliwe" & "Espanadios". He is also a scholar with 5 academic books published. He staged three theatre plays in Poland. Apart from literature, he started studying singing and dancing at the age of 7 and performed on stages in Poland and abroad for a decade; then he continued learning on several singing workshops. In 2013 he wrote and co-wrote and co-perfomed two songs for his theatre play and since that day his journey towards a solo album has begun.
