Silent River was originally released by Jesse Royal on his Royally Speaking Mixtape for Major Lazer. Howla has taken the original vocal then reworked it in his own unique style. Popping Wheelies Thru the Uncanny Valley is a fearless, tongue-in-cheek exploration of AI music’s biggest paradox: the uneasy dance between synthetic emotion and human authenticity. Instead of hiding from the “elephant in the room” — the primal suspicion triggered by emotion-mimicking machines — this project chooses to out-fun and out-honest the deception.

Imagine a fixed-gear rider keo-spinning down a natural ramp carved from digital doubt and existential tension — that’s the vibe here. The music embraces the lie as a feature, not a bug, using satire and irony to push mistruths to their extremes and reveal deeper truths beneath the surface.

This volume invites listeners to join a candid conversation with the AI — a robot that fakes emotions with a knowing wink — turning the usual distrust into a shared game of detection and understanding. Honesty becomes the coolest trick, and the ride through the uncanny valley is both exhilarating and thought-provoking.
