God will magnify his goodness, all his power he will show
Through the working of his spirit, well his own this keeping know
He will gather in his people, he’ll seethe the pottage, set the pot
He’ll gather in the herbs they offer, the wild gourds and vines they’ve brought
He’ll empty laps of burdens, even that which they knew not
But alas, without his blessing, there is but poison in the pot.
Put it in the kettle, Close the pot for it is black
Cry aloud, without his blessing all is poison, death and lack
Shred the little that we offer, mixed with earnesty of thought
And God alone will turn to blessing, that which we put within the pot
