It's an old English tune but my arrangement here is a little more generic of these isles - there's an English style penny whistle and an Irish style tin whistle in the mix.

Drive the Cold Winter Away

My bio says, "here to listen." True, and sometimes I collaborate on vocals. Other times, I hear something that inspires me to make a piece of fan art. Enter: Sakura. The wistful melody is perfectly rendered in @andrei_g's evocative version of this traditional Japanese folk tune, so the chant- and round-like vocal lines I've added mirror the light and shadow already in the music. The different vocal presences nod to the many generations who have sung or considered these words.

(Native speakers, forgive my self-administered crash course in Japanese pronunciation and some of the rhythmic liberties I have taken with these verses and your beautiful language.)
