FOOTSTEPS

This highly cathartic tune came about after years of trying to change the system from the inside ... and failing. It became clear that the system was so broken that the only way to dismantle it was to start to smash it from the outside in. Themes of Feminism and Challenging the Patriarchy sit heavily in this tune. Poly Styrene plays heavily as an influence in this. Her bravery to sing how she wanted to sing and create lyrics that came from a truly authentic place have always spoken to me.

This track lives firmly in the liminal space ... the time between times. It is probably the most emotionally authentic tune I have ever worked on and brought tears to my eyes at times. The beautiful melodic music creates an ambience of floatiness that comes from being without am anchor in a ever changing chaotic world.

LOCKED AWAY

We are the Liminal Space - a collective of musicians gathered by Tom Hopkins. 

The word liminal comes from the Latin word ‘limen’, meaning threshold – any point or place of entering or beginning. A liminal space is the time between the ‘what was’ and the ‘next.’ It is a place of transition, a season of waiting, and not knowing.  The Liminal space is where all transformation takes place, if we learn to wait and let it form us.
