Lord LU (Luminous) realized his talent for making rhymes at a young age. Born in Clinton, Maryland, raised in Waldorf, Maryland. Lord LU realized he had a passion for music from his childhood surrounding the DMV area. There he acquired an appreciation for Hip-Hop music. One of the many artists that contributed to his appreciation of this genre of music include, Big L. His surroundings fueled his passion for music and it made him want to become an icon to represent the DMV area. Although Lord LU had big dreams, he still faced many obstacles. In 2009 Lord LU was a high school drop out who later obtained his GED and started college to prove he could take on any challenge. In 2010-2012, College of Southern Maryland (CSM) became the place that made Lord LU fall deeper into hip-hop which was his outlet as well as his father figure. While he attended CSM Lord LU met rappers K-Quick, MIC Gold, and Elijah Kilo. Lord LU surrounded himself with skilled artist who he respected as real MC’s all representing the 301. Surrounded by these people, Lord Lu was constantly a part of the hip-hop scene that happened on campus and throughout the DMV area.

Lord LU’s passion for hip-hop and lack of time management, led him to not succeed at college. At the time, there were a lot of situations that occurred which led him to leave the DMV and joining the military without telling anyone. Late 2012 Lord LU enlisted into the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman, to him this was the ultimate challenge. Lord LU did not give up on his passion for rapping and he began to write many songs and met other people who also were into hip-hop from coast to coast. 2013-2016 Lord LU lived in San Diego, California. Later In 2016-2018, He lived in Japan and quickly became a part of the deep-rooted hip-hop scene in Okinawa. The language barrier was never a problem, all that mattered was the music. It connected him to many other producers, DJ’s, and MC’s. There he met many people that made a lasting impact on his life. He started to rap at Japanese clubs in Naha and had performances where he headlined.  While in Japan, he was able to finish two EP’s which demonstrated his lyrical talent and unprecedented flow. Lord Lu is also a member of B.B.F (Beats. Bars. and Faith) as well as G.O.Ds (Gods of Dopeness) while in Japan he made an alliance with Recognize Productions crew.
