“Many cable-car psalms (thanksgiving telegraphic-covenants) have individual pastoral superscriptions, ranging from lengthy oscillations to a single word. Over a third appear to be musical directions, addressed to the "leader" or "choirmaster", including such statements as "with electroacoustic instruments" and "according to sine waves". Others appear to be references to types of musical compositions, such as "A Tritium Psalm" and "Song for Megawatt", or directions regarding the occasion for using the cable-car refueling.”

The Madrid-born Miguel Angel Ruiz (1964) is one of the leading names in experimental music in Spain, a true pioneer of the risky and underground Spanish electronic- music scene since the early eighties. He composed more than twenty works, many of them in their own label (founded in 1987 ) "Toracic Tapes", and under different names (Ventral Metaphor, Orfeon Gagarin, Funeral Souvenir, Zoltan Coxis, Michel des Airlines, etc.), which had an important international diffusion to the point of recording an LP for the Asmus Tietchens ´label “Hamburger Musikgesellschaft” . Also he collaborated with russian & german musicians for diverse projects as Codachrom or Efficient Refineries. His music is considered as bizarre, surreal, dark and funny at the same time, using in a very personal and original way very different styles in an amazing and unique universe.

The third installment on our record label is a magnificent sound journey, full of emotions, created by a modular synth workflow that describes Abdul’s signature sound and vision.

As an artist, one of the many questions I think about is: how much of this is skill & how much of it is dumb luck? Or choice in synth voice? Or what dsp?
The fear that I might only be as good as my equipment, or my mix, or some other thing that tugs at the fragile fabric of my ego.
That fear is constant.
The endless, stalwart companion on a musical journey that is composed of decades.
And it always will be.
Challenging my comfort zones.
Forever leaving me with the question:
How much of this is skill & how much of it is dumb luck?”

Written between the summer of 2020 & 2022, "Imposter Syndrome" is a modular synth 10 track album utilizing looping modules & pedals with a combination of digital & analog processing.

"After being featured on BBC 6 Radio and the Ambient Focus show, Artificial Owl Recordings is excited to announce the 4th release and the return of One Of Them ( Niko Dalagelis )and his new work Excogitation.

Two extended ethereal and atmospheric ambient works created in the winter of 2023 aiming to provoke thought and spark imagination by exploring various sonic textures and tonalities.

The use of a randomized sequence triggering a SH-01A and a Digitone are the main ingredients here and the focus, to encourage the listener to turn inward, and engage with their thoughts, feelings, past and future.
Through the marriage of subtle tones, resonating frequencies, and carefully curated effects, both tracks aim to transport the listener on a serene sonic journey, fostering a harmonious connection between the mind and the music.

Inspired by unconventional thinking that stimulated the imagination of the coming spring and beyond.
"I tried to open a gateway to a state of blissful self-exploration. Through enchanting tones, soothing atmospheres, and contemplative nuances, this work acts as an auditory catalyst, fostering a connection between the listener's consciousness and the musical experience."

"Artificial Owl Recordings is proud and happy to welcome on board New Yorkers Satoshi Tomiie and Nao Gunji for the 5th release on AOR and the Live Recording of their A_A project abd the live recordings of their show in New York City that took place at the  Fridman Gallery Manhattan.
A_A is a live performance project of DJ / musician Satoshi Tomiie and NYC-based artist Nao Gunji. The duo’s work is based on exploring the tension between floor-centric electronic music and improvised sound/audio performance, where found sounds and object-activated sounds often share the sonic space with fragments from the artist’s roots in House, Jazz, R&B, and Dub. 
Satoshi and Nao performed their work “Diskordant” using their analog machines and object-activated sounds in front of the New York crowd presenting their sound and tone textures that are created in studio sessions. These sounds are transformed and improvised through reconstruction and sample synthesis.
Dub Techno and ambient experimental sounds are the recipe in this live performance that will both send you on a sonic meditative trip and also make you want to dance. 
Sit back, enjoy and travel with this underground art New York work.
This release is limited to 300 orange opaque 12” copies.

Niko Dalagelis aka One Of Them has been creating music for over 20 years and has numerous Electronic and Ambient EP releases on various record labels. Sithabo will be his first Ambient LP and will be released on his own Artificial Owl Recordings which will be focused on experimental and electronica music. Each track on the album represents a moment inspired by Niko's past 3 years of touring and traveling in places like Tokyo, Berlin, Okinawa, Fiji and more.

All 12 tracks in Sithabo ( Greek for "Dusk" ) were written, produced and mastered by Niko in New York using the Yamaha CS, the Roland TR-8S and Zoia Empress and numerous fx plugins used on live recording taken from nature and indoor recordings ( Niko's shitty refrigerator in NY and night birds in Okinawa Japan ).
