“Notes from the Avenue” is the creative project collective of Sydney based guitarist and singer-songwriter Matty Jay. 
Creating art takes patience, time and sometimes the right experiences in life to gain new inspiration.   
These original compositions take a back to basics approach to songwriting, structure and production.  My previous release, the acoustic e.p, was a collection of songs from times gone by, loved lost and the dreams of places we would all rather be.  
It has taken a few years to become comfortable with releasing fresh new original tracks, now gaining inspiration from those dreamy, folky indie vibes that get us all through summer.
With an unplugged six string, lush soundscapes and a newfound love for some extra production tools, my new releases feature that raw quality blended with just the right amount of hooks and simple melodies to sing along to.
