‘Shackleton Trio sleigh the bah bug with a delightfully quirky Christmas contender “Gonna Retrain As Santa Claus”’

The song is a celebration of musicians and the arts during this fallow period, and is a response to the implication that a job in the arts is no longer deemed a viable career choice. Georgia wrote the song after undertaking the National Career Service’s retraining quiz, launched in October. All of the careers featured in the song were recommended to Georgia Shackleton as alternative career paths to music (The only exclusion is retraining as Santa Claus)…

This feel good single has The Shackleton Trio’s trademark stamp of witty and playful lyrics, combined with catchy melody and bright instrumentation. It features Santa Claus encountering obstacles whilst undertaking the usual Christmas duties, and considering alternative career paths along the way: “My belt is stuck, down comes soot and muck. I hear a rumble, the chimney stack crumbles, should've retrained in construction”…
