The next release from the re-activated Frank & Tony drops on Scissor and Thread. Following on from Dream Vibration - which broke a five year hiatus from the much-lauded production pair of Francis Harris and Anthony Collins - Eastern Meantimes brings us a sublime set of tracks and remixes. 

The original features New York artist Eliana Glass, whose sultry vocals ride above a deep, atmospheric groove and lush pads and washes. 

The track is also presented here with two stellar remixes from Timmy Regsiford, the New York legend who has been defining the sound of house in the city for nearly 40 years. 

Here his vocal and instrumental remixes are smooth, deep and infectious, sure to light up discerning dance- floors the world over. 
Frank & Tony’s Absence is the other original track here, a thick, pulsing bass-driven roller punctuated with sharp snares and the pair’s trademark ethereal pads. 

There’s also a digi exclusive where Regisford teams up with DSOL for a ‘retouch’ of Eastern Melodies - giving the track another flavor, rich in additional percussion and a slightly heavier groove.

The highly respected and much loved doyens of disco Crazy P are curating a brand new series of records for 20/20 Vision, featuring a fine selection of exclusive tracks produced by some of their favourite artists. Although rooted in disco the project showcases the bands wide ranging and eclectic musical world, incorporating; balearic moments, downtempo beats, indie dance and electronica. The music will be spread over four vinyl records featuring bespoke artwork from Bristol based visual artist Victoria Topping, back illustrating for the band after creating several of their classic covers in the early years. The concept of the curation is to bring diverse like-minded artists together and re-invigorate the disco scene in the spirit of unity. 

Volume One features a brand new track from the Crazy P called ‘People (We Can Transform) sitting alongside a selection of disco dubs and stompers courtesy of Ashley Beedle, LA based ASHRR with Felix Dickinson on the remix and U.S funkateers Change Request & Saucy Lady. 

Vinyl will be distributed by Juno with digital released through Republic of Music coming Autumn 2022 with the series culminating in summer 2023.

Returning to Beats in Space after their debut 12" (and the label's debut release) in the fall of 2011, Paradis offers "Hémisphère" and "Je m'ennuie", another pair of sophisticatedly crafted, noir-pop songs from the young Parisian duo.

On the two tracks of their second 12", Paradis self-reflect to find an escape hatch away from themselves. The A-Side, "Hémisphère", a macabre story of a lonely guest of life determined to leave everything behind, defies the narrative's convention and captivates with pop melodies and up beats abound.

On the B-Side, "Je M'ennuie", lovers settle into late-night melancholic routines soundtracked by a brooding bass line, an achingly affective synth lead, and vocals that grin behind the disaffected front. Ultimately, hope prevails as both tracks beg the listener to leave their headphones behind for the global village's dance floor. From Paris to Cologne, from Buenos Aires to New York, in the words of Michel Polnareff, "On ira tous au Paradis."

Each 12" from Beats in Space features original artwork in considerate & serial form. The first 12" features artwork by Denise Kupferschmidt, a Brooklyn-based artist finding inner / outer space in the movement of line and assemblage of color. The 12" packaging constructed by Will Work For Good features a vinyl BIS logo cling. The 12" will be available on May 22nd, 2012 from fine retailers worldwide. Ground-breaking label Sonar Kollektiv are celebrating their 21st birthday with a massive compilation from their back catalogue.  ‘Sonar Kollektiv 21 Years’ covers releases from the last two decades, showcasing the labels wonderfully broad approach to A&R, as well a bunch of unreleased treats.  German DJ/Producer collective Jazzanova launched the label in 1997, in the atmosphere of creative freedom following the fall of the Berlin Wall. The catalogue covers a wide range of genres - electronica, house, techno, funk, dream-pop, chill-wave and of course jazz.  At the heart of it all, the label is about quality and a passion for new music.
