This suite is a result of a coveted collaboration with my dear friend and neighbor Dale Jergenson who sadly passed away on November 30th, 2021. Dale wrote the lyrics and I wrote the music. I dedicate this to a great man, world-class composer and my treasured friend. Dale, I miss you so much already, dear friend.
(*Some may recognize the music in the final movement of this piece as the music to a song called "Bound & Gagged" from my 2021 solo album ONLY TIME WILL TELL.)

Wrote this for our grandson Shay (turned 2 years old in February). When we took him to Disneyland for the first time we went on a ride I had come to hate ever since MY first trip to Disneyland decades ago... "It's a Small World". The song drove me nuts and the ride was WAY too long! But seeing it through Shay's eyes brought a whole new perspective. I just loved the look of wonder in his eyes! And of course we had to go on the ride again. AND we had to find a video of the ride on YouTube and watch it over and over and over...

I had written this lullaby quite a while ago but when I finally got around to making the track I knew I had to reference our Disneyland experience in some fashion. A few days after we went to the park I asked Shay what his favorite thing about Disneyland was and he said, "Small!" There it was! And of course I had to reference the Disney song in some fashion as well.

* Sorry about the sound quality! This was recorded circa 1972 (I was about 16-17 years old) on a very old cassette player using one very old and very cheap microphone!
