Ayo! April has arrived and hopefully it will bring better weather. Most certainly we will continue to bring those quality tunes. This time  Belgian Producer and DJ Pianopoli recorded TR193. In his sound he blends driving rhythms and effervescent synths with the modernity of contemporary indie dance. This mixtape encapsulates that vibe perfectly, so crank up the sound system and bask in the sunshine!

Hailing from Paris with Bulgarian roots, @Karassimeon is obsessed with Disco and EBM, hence his motto “Glitter & Leather”. 

He has released a string of tracks on Toulouse based label Ritmo Fatale in 2023, delivering his distinctive blend of Cold Wave, EBM and Italo. Beyond the initial support he was granted by Kendal and Pablo Bozzi, his productions are gathering growing support in the scene by the likes of Marie Davidson, David Carretta, Avalon Emerson, The Magician, Curses and Jennifer Cardini.

Already heard on radio stations like Rinse FM and KEXP, his music has also graced the stage of venues such as Badaboum and Petit Bain in Paris, Macadam in Nantes or the Grauzone Festival in The Hague. 

His encounter with Ombra International found its perfect embodiment in his new single STSFXN, a fervent tribute to his initial passions within the EBM genre, such as Nitzer Ebb and Front 242.

Relentlessly researching new soundscapes in his studio, Karassimeon is already delivering his new live electronic show on tour in 2024, with releases scheduled on favorite labels such as Ritmo Fatale and Bordello A Parigi.

This week on Topshelf we're delighted to have with us Colombian Italo/Dark Disco DJ/Producer Galope Messier.

With his original discography beginning within it's last 12 months, Galope Messier's debut releases 'Onda Corrosiva', 'Lumbre Apasionada' and 'Stellar Guidance' have been a breathe of fresh air, carving there way somewhere in-between Italo and Dark Disco with a touch of Dark Wave and Acid.
We're extremely excited to see what this young artist has in store with future releases and with him already showcasing a fine ability to pull from a multitude of genres, we're sure his music will continue to deliver.

Pour ce numéro 142, on reçoit l'incontournable @karassimeon, Mickaël de son vrai prénom ou Kara pour les intîmes, c'est la botte secrète du label @ritmofatale ou le successeur de Harsen Banger (pour ceux qui ont la réf). Pour Kara le disco et l'EBM sont ses obsessions contradictoires : sa devise est "Glitter & Leather" où ses principales inspirations sont cinématographiques et dystopiques, incarnées par des artistes tels que Goblin, John Carpenter et Giorgi Moroder. La rencontre avec le label toulousain Ritmo Fatale était inévitable et s'est traduite par la sortie de "Nightmare Disco" : un titre mêlant french touch et dark disco beats saignants. Leur passion commune pour l'héritage italo-disco et le son français incarné par Zone, Ed Banger ou Institube les amènera à sortir un EP complet qui a fait coulé le sang sur le dancefloor !

Minitel is a French 4+ year-old retro-futuristic brand created by Julien and Franck, specialized in indie dance, Italo disco, New Wave/Beat, progressive and trancy influences.

Their DJ sets are a reflection of what they push on their platform, playing in places like Paris' Badaboum with their 'Hotline' party and Wilde Renate in Berlin.

For the delivery of their mix they used their best broadband connection which includes a few surprises or like everybody says 'big things are coming soon'!
