Este quinto lanzamiento amplía el entretejido musical del distintivo “sonido borde”. Borde05 sigue sorteando los lugares más comunes de la música electrónica actual. Expresándose en texturas deli y ritmos refinados, este EP se convierte en un diálogo múltiple que entremezcla ambientes y conecta pasajes vocales tanto indefinibles como reales.

Evocando una especie de lenguaje antiguo en “Sucre” y su rito extrasensorial, el tema en manos de Vince (UY) abre el lanzamiento de forma dinámica y un tanto impredecible, de esqueleto mínimal pero con el alma house, este track es ideal para el comienzo de cualquier dj set. Inmediatamente después, el tema “BeB” de Antonio Lentini alias Ezzy (ITA), cargado con una vibra de influencia electro y una progresión de acordes que destila una especia de nostalgia positiva, da la pausa meditativa necesaria para el cierre del lado A.

Al comienzo de la cara B, “Global Heat”. La voz de Camilo Castaldi alias Tea-Time (CHI) tratada con efectos y sobre-grabaciones, habla sobre la sociedad actual y su relación tóxico-dependiente con la tecnología, animales encerrados y contaminación infinita, invitando a la reflexión y así tomar por sorpresa cualquier pista. Esta composición de ritmo dub pero de pulso uptempo, ha sido producida por el dúo chileno Area 51 (Rodrigo Valdivia & Camilo Gil). Llegando al final de este V.A, suena "See You", una conclusión ambient con matices IDM  en progresiones melódicas de eterno ascenso. Una amena despedida del disco, ideal para el cierre de cualquier set, una obra hermosa creada por el artista Sasha Nevolin (CZ).  txt: FRM @deejayde

An extremely gifted producer, Quelaan's use of percussion and his ability to mould breaks, deep house & electro into his own version of minimal is what separates him from the pack.  
His brilliantly diverse debut Album, 2021's 'Convergent Boundary' couldnt have been a better base to build from and now, with a multitude of EP's under his belt including 'QB006' which came out this week, Quelaan is establishing his sound within the minimal community as a resident of Eject Records and live at the Cock&Tail.

Newly founded label Fluyo by Jorge Escribano makes it appearance on the big stages with its first VA called Fragments from Finowstraße including four cuts that cover the time-span from the 90s till 2010 and explore Techno and Electro sound-aesthetics. The B1, Flyers, comes from Dutch veteran producer Mark Du Mosch, who has had releases on Royal Oak, Dekmantel or SoHaSo amongst others, and was originally produced in 1999. Therefore Mark fuses Italian Disco with Acid and puts an early House drum to the track. Overall the Flyers has a nostalgic video game vibe with its bleepy sounds but is certainly more than a memory of the past but a track worth finding its way into DJ-bags in the golden 20s.

Forceful grooves and trippy soundscapes here – business as usual for Junes, whose latest EP adds to a string of releases getting bagged by those looking to work the floor with tight and atmospheric rhythms. The Galdoors man's flair for unexpected combos is on parade in Circuit Rift, where a UK-style low end is flung into the mix with rough drums and 4am melodics. There's a funkier bassline and rolling groove at work in Awake, this time with rich layers of pads and blips. Brass Hand uses a different palette – a sparkling, loopy riff and crisp drums – though it's still signature Junes.

Harrison BDP is up next on the podcast.  The Cardiff based DJ / Producer has been steadily climbing the ranks since his Transcend EP back in 2015 and for good reason.

Ahhhh the joys of creating a new label! I have started Holding Hands Again to bring to light some records from the past that I adore and think should be made more widely available so that everyone can slam them in the club.

Bushwacka! is without a doubt one of the main influences behind the main Holding Hands label. His UK take out house and techno then lead onto his groundbreaking labels Oblong and Plank that have inspired many of the generations that came after him. I love those breaks releases and play a lot of them in my sets but my favourite of his cuts are actually his super early releases that he put out on his own label Sound As A Pound. Volume 1, 2 and 3 are packed with gems and sound just as original today as they did in the mid 90s. They are incredibly rare and sought after by any DJ who knows their stuff, which is why I am so pleased to be able to share three of my favourite tracks from those releases.

I chose three that covered a broad range of sound. Loopy trippy house, techno with a ton of soul and one straight up classic house banger. I have also done a garage remix of track 8 myself to bring another spin on his unique sound.

This re release has been freshly remastered for maximum boost and sounds fat as fuck on a system.

In this edition of our MIXEDBY series, we were fortunate enough to procure a selection from esteemed producer Jimmy Rouge! The name, which is synonymous with his label Orange Tree Edits, has been responsible for some of the most memorable house-edits of music from around the world - crossing the borders of countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Mr. Rouge is a little bit of a man of mystery. He's not known for doing interviews. We believe the last one he participated in was in 2017. However, Jimmy was able to put together a brief summary of his mix below where he walks us through his current situation and inspiration behind his curation. Enjoy!

"I made this mix while in lockdown in Amsterdam and County Clare in Ireland. I initially started it just as a de-stressing exercise. I was listening to a lot of Japanese new age/ambient and had also made some ambient versions of some Irish songs. One, in particular, is a spacey version of a recording of Martin Hayes playing a reel on the fiddle called ‘Ger The Rigger’. It’s from an album called ‘Live in Seattle’. I’ve added some spoken word and a recording from an Irish radio station. There’s a soundtrack record in there and even a heavily pitched down version of a song by Anúna." - Jimmy Rouge
