IN MEMORY OF CLIFF JOHNSON: an extraordinary multi-talented individual, a great vocalist, songwriter, and a guy with a wild sense of humor. >>> In the 1990s, Cliff and I would regularly get together at my home studio to work on songs. We both loved girl-pop songs like "I Only Wanna Be with You” and “Maybe I Know” so this particular day during the summer of 1995 we decided to tackle a tune called "Easier Said Than Done" -- a 1963 hit by the Essex (who were all active Marines when they recorded the tune -- including the vocalist Anita Humes). Cliff sang lead on this track and we did the back-up vocals together. I played guitar and bass and Cliff wrangled the drum machine. We were both really pleased with how this came out. We liked the vocal blend and had a great time working on the track. I hope you like it.

Together since 1980, The original jangle guitar band, BNI has opened live shows for Spencer Davis, Rare Earth, Lovin' Spoonful, Dave Mason, The Buckingham's, Head East, Romantics, Savoy Brown, Off Broadway, Long Ryders, The Kind, Pete Special, Rick Danko, The Smithereens, Elvis Bros. 
BNI has played many clubs in Chicago with small Midwest tours and dates in Europe. BNI has released E.P.’s, C.D.’s, Compilation Albums, Demos and Video for over 30 years. This band enjoys making original music. Recording hours of material in over 25 studios we have proudly worked and co-produced with Phil Bonnet, Graham Walker, Jeff Murphy, Frank Pappalardo, Malcolm Chisholm, Denny Nowak and many more.

2020 - BNI is in the studio presently producing and recording new songs. With plans to release another full-length effort of new music this summer.

2021 - New songs released monthly.
