SECRET ODYSSEY (DEMO)

It's been a great time working with London artist Veronica Adaeze and mastering engineer Ben Hinge by remixing their song "Unrequited Love" in this huge project.

In this project, I rearranged the song. It's my FIRST time tried to explore possibilities adding EDM elements into RnB genre, and also blend Lo-fi genre in it. S/O to couple of producers which inspired me in this song like DJKing JNY Beaz and more. I'd say its a mixture of EDM, RnB and acoustic Lo-fi. hard to define this song's genre haha! Yeah it's an experiment.

Alright lets back onto ground. All music genres involved are serving the lyrics. The lyrics makes me feel so pity for the singer who's suffering ignorance in this relationship when I first studied it . Thats why it named "Unrequited Love".

Although the story is sad, but I wanted to produce a sense of "I'm unrequited, but I am unaffected, I am free and ease and can let it go". So I structured the emotion starts from sadness, self-doubting, clamming struggling and finally setting it free.

For production part, I arranged, recorded, mixed and mastered by my own. It's never a piece of cake for a producer wearing different hats. It's so draining when doing over hundreds of takes, spending limitless time in front of my Mac. But I did enjoy it, and I know it a way long journey to learn. That's Music Producer's life.

P.s. This is an instrumental version. We also got full version with vocals in it. And that version was mastered by Ben Hinge. Was published on 30th June 2023 on music platforms. Can Literally look for DT Remix version.

Creation idea:
I sampled Addam Wednesday playing cello scene at rooftop, and turned it into a hype beat! This beat pictures how Wednesday fight with Joseph Crackstone in my mind.

You can recognise there're loads of sound elements from this epic drama eg. typewriter, vinyl scratches, raining... which enhanced the whole "Wednesday" vibe.

Last but not least, you can also spot the melody line of the Wednesday main theme in my music break as well!
