Bambossa Records is the New York based label from heavyweight house music producer Harry Romero, all sourced and mastered from his own Butchashop studio. A humble house legend, Harry Romero cut his teeth during the heyday of New York’s vibrant club scene and has continually proven to be one of the finest advocates of bona fide house music ever since. He remains a firm favourite in the dance music world, delighting fans across the globe with his compelling selector sets and iconic productions, championed by major DJs on legendary stages. Bambossa has been running for over twenty years, consistently churning out top quality releases, the past year was a highlight for the label with chart-topping tracks from Louie Vega and a viral remix of Basement Jaxx’s ‘Romeo’, as well as original collaborations from the hottest emerging underground producers such as Alinka and Salomé le Chat.

‘Infused roots’ is the new EP of Elisa Elisa on Bambossa Records. The French-Algerian producer describes herself as a fusion of her origins: from the Berbers of North Africa to the Gospel Singers of North Europe. Elisa Elisa’s two track EP leads with ‘Bring The Beat Back’, an
atmospheric house heater with a rumbling groove laden beat that interweaves her hypnotising vocals, completed with the sultry squelch of acid as the track pulls up to its unwelcome end. Followed up by ‘Djembe Talk’, a contemporary percussion filled tribute to her North African roots, where the tonal bass and tripping drums completely elevate her brilliant production style. ‘Infused Roots’ is imbued with feeling, the vocals tinged with recollective sentiment yet the fresh sound is overwhelmingly present.

After two new EPs released last year on Pont Neuf Records and Jimpster’s label Delusions of Grandeur, both supported by many producers such as Joe Goddard (Hot Chip), Horse Meat Disco or Adryiano, Cosmonection is back on Pont Neuf with a new EP Odyssey. This new maxi from the Parisian producer presents an ever more mature sound universe by confirming its attachment to a deep house sound with many Balearic euphoria influences and a more retro-futuristic approach, synthesized with hushed melodies and warm afro rhythms.

It all starts with "Midnight", a deliciously dreamy, mesmerizing hypnotic and spacy introduction, featuring the sweet and light voice of the Russian Brazilian singer Gystere. "Odyssey" leads us to the heat with a multi-phase and resolutely headlining track, driven by the 909’s groovy rhythm and a series of synthesizers creating an irresistible tension. The second part of the maxi opens with "Lost Islands", a true Balearic and warm escape with bouncy bass and piano chords that leave no other choice than dancing to its listener. Then comes "Feelings", with a deeper and more efficient deep house atmosphere via a dubby approach where the pads merge beautifully with the clattering percussion of the track. Finally, "Solstice" presents another collaboration, this time with Tour-Maubourg where the universes of the two producers combine together, with an ambitious mix of genres where Cosmonection’s spacy and groovy touch meets the melancholic jazzy-house sound from the other promising producer of the new French house scene.
