This month, our prelude comes from the author Frances R. Havergal, a prolific hymn writer from the 19th century. This hymn, helps remind us of the peace and comfort we have from our Savior and LORD. He gives the water of life, and this water will become a bubbling fountain in His children. Arranged by Joshua Savage, Accompaniment composed and played by Joyce Goehring.

Like A River Glorious

Christ is our good Shepherd, who seeks out His lost sheep, carrying them in his safe and secure arms. Jesus has promised that "none shall pluck" his Elect "from his hands"; He is the Shepherd who not only keeps his sheep, but lays his life down for them. Therefore, "what have I to dread, what have I to fear, leaning on the everlasting arms?"

Leaning On The Everlasting Arms

In times of tribulation, we often feel isolated and alone. But Jesus Christ is our faithful shepherd, leading us through the dark and perilous land. This hymn was sung for the September prelude at Grace Reformed Church in Greeley, CO.
