Whispers In The Old Growth

A conceptual work on the ongoing cycle of the seasons in the Norwegian mountains and the hardships they bring with ever-changing weather conditions such as strong winds, low temperatures and loads of snow. Still, there are living beings that can't escape, yet have adapted to these environments with their lifecycles. Plants do not grow large above the treeline, but the snow insulates them during the dark months of winter and when it melts around may, life is awakening to get ready for a short vegetative period, that lasts until september or so. Small flowers emerge and fill the air with their scents, which is humming with sounds of insects and songs of birds. When days start to get shorter and the sun is fading, and plants allocate their energy to their storage systems, getting ready to fall into their nival slumber again when the snow starts to gently fall from the open skies.

Fading light in interstellar fog. Crackling atomic decay as a source of radiation in the eternal darkness of space, the divine candle of nothingness. Spiritual ascension through disintegration. A slight glimpse of hope, an intangible feeling of joy intertwined in a layer of melancholy.
