This ones a Belters first! Man like AKA Alex is OFFICIALLY the first ginger to ever grace the Belters mix series!! I wasn't going to let him, but when he sent me this HYSTERICAL garage mix, there really wasn't anything I could have done other than say "ooo come here you sexy rascal, lets do this THANG!"

If you don't know man like Akalex by now, GET 2 KNOW YE?! He's the head chef over at Spin The Wheel Records, a new Bristol label who have already made their mark on the scene with a series of underground parties across the city, accompanied by a couple SAAAUCY digital releases to go alongside. The vibe of the label is vvvvv similar to the vibe alex brings to the mix - Saucy, a little bit sexy, but most importantly - STEPPY! (Eh?)

With plenty more releases planned on the label, EYES ON SPIN THE WHEEL YE? Big things coming soon and all that codswallop - and if you fancy seeing the ginger DJ EZ in action for yourself, he's holding down a monthly residency at the big BWAD cosies in Bristol for the foreseeable, and ya boi Belters might just be making an appearance there in the not too distant future...

The debut release from Works Records comes from Half-time // Slow/fast and label founders DJ Jonco & Goldman. Following their successful run of club nights at Cosies; bringing in a wide range of 160 artists, New Era EP showcases their Chicago Footwork & Juke influences, whilst also nodding towards 90s Jungle and Hardcore.

The title track, New Era, combines triplet kicks with a hazy melody and a deep sub to compelling effect. Glow Of Love is a dancefloor banger with driving percs and a familiar bassline. Who's it Gonna Be combines 80s slow jams and jungle breaks with halftime 808 drums, and Distant Lover captures the overall melancholic mood of the EP, with the thought of summer parties still distant away.

The set is absolutely RAMMED full of classic tracks from myself and benny BWOI - bloody 'eck the whole thing is 2 hours so we really go on a JOOOUUURNEY!! I'll be honest, there's 1 or 2 oopsies - but lets face it when isn't there?!?! I'm not a professional DJ, just a professional fan 😍😘😍
