Tabula Rasa Album

This is a collection of songs we have been recording over the last year and is the second album released by 'James & Paul'. The release date for this album is scheduled to be 1st June 2022. The album is a mixture of upbeat rhythmic tracks and slow moody ones. WAYCA is based on the Bonnie & Clyde story and what could have been if Clyde's early life had gone a different way. The last 2 songs are loosely based on the Covid situation ('The End' is very Armageddon themed followed by the resurgence of 'A New Dawn'). 'Feels Like' is a description of what it is like to be prone to panic attacks. The other songs are based around the usual themes of love and loss. Vocals and lyrics are by James although Paul wrote the lyrics in WAYCA. Guitars and bass are by Paul with drums being programmed at Blast Studios in Newcastle. Keyboards and strings were with the help of Andy at Blast. Sax is by Dom.

We are a father and son song writing team. James is the vocalist and main lyric writer. Paul plays the bass & guitars. James is a personal trainer & owner of a gym in Newcastle, Paul owns and runs an accountancy practice in Newcastle. We have written songs all our lives but feel that the mixture of our influences ranging from The Clash, Radiohead, QOSA to Simon & Garfunkel & Basshunter makes for quite a special brand of music that we both love recording. All songs are written jointly.
