Every year, as part of the final class project for the Recording and Production Techniques (RPT) class in the Music Program, students work on the production of an EP. This semester, instead of working in the studio (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), they have been working remotely.

This song titles From a Balcony, is an anthem created by students that describes the time we are living in, during quarantine, apart from each other. The full instrumentation for the song, apart from the guitars and bass, is created from furniture from the students’ rooms, which they used as recording studios.

GAZELIEN Records is a University-record label at NYUAD created by students in Recording & Production Techniques class. This is an innovative way to provide  students with hands-on experience of recording and marketing their own music. Multi-Platinum Producer/ Mixer, Professor Marciano, set up this record label to ensure students could develop skills they need to make a success of a career in the Music Industry. GAZALIEN Records provide real-world opportunities for students. They operate like a major label company, thanks to the high-powered music industry backgrounds of the faculty involved and the world class audio equipment. The skills learned and the experiences gained are essential training for anyone interested in a career in the music industry.
