With the hypophyseal portal system and the hypothalamo-hypophyseal tract, we can visualize the intricate connection between these two. The pituitary is known as the "master gland," but as we can see, it does nothing unless the hypothalamus tells it to. We also have a little fun discussing when and how hormones were discovered.
