'Funhouse' is the latest release from Perth independent artist Nocturnal.

Perth-based musician and producer Nocturnal has announced a new EP featuring his latest single, "Cold Hearts." The song has an 80s-inspired sound and deals with heartbreak and all the drama and uncertainty that often accompanies young love. The song was entirely created in Nocturnal's home studio and later mixed and mastered by Dave Parkin and Simon Struthers. The composition of the song has a distinct emphasis on the use of synthesizers and electric piano sounds, which are presented prominently throughout the track. The production value of the song is exceptional, creating a rich and cohesive sonic landscape that matches the emotional twist Nocturnal was going for.

Cold Hearts

Perth-based musician Louis Rendle-O'Shea, known as Nocturnal, releases his new EP titled "HEARTATTACK." It includes six songs with a catchy 80s twist and is characterized by Nocturnal's layered vocal melodies, also incorporating elements of Alternative Indie and soulful R&B. The EP comes from a very personal place, showcasing some of Louis' best songwriting to date, but also a more upbeat twist compared to some of his previous work.

Nocturnal is the newest music project from Perth producer Louis Rendle-O'Shea. Featuring an elegant blend of Alternative Indie and soulful R&B, Nocturnal picks up where Rendle-O'Shea left off with beloved high-end outfit The Arsonist. Darting between his own studio and Blackbird Studios, Rendle-O'Shea is enlisting ARIA award winning producer Dave Parkin (Spacey Jane, Pond, Drapht) to help capture the nuance and detail of Nocturnal's finery. Although the brainchild of Rendle-O'Shea, Nocturnal is not a one-man-show. Much to the delight of fans the world over, Nocturnal features the very legendary rhythm section of bassist Jon Stockman and drummer Steve Judd of Perth's all-time biggest heavy act, Karnivool. 

Musically, Nocturnal is a masterclass in sleek, honeyed tones. While still in Rendle-O'Shea's wheelhouse of alternative indie music, Nocturnal borrows the best aspects of 'super producer' mainstream R&B, giving his effortlessly catchy tunes a gold leaf finesse that will appeal to discerning contemporary listeners. The inclusion of Karnivool's rhythm section is no accident, as Nocturnal fuels its pop hooks with the best musicianship available on the planet – all from the isolated coastal haven of Western Australia. With album #1 released – Nocturnal is hitting the ground running, and never looking back.
