Clementine is a song about love and surrealism: the world of dreams. It expresses how life depends on perspective and how our vision of the world around us is determined by where we are standing. Dreaming while asleep connects our mind and being to the deepest emotions of love and our inner child to the universe.  When you’re a sensitive soul, waking life can be deceiving and filled with trickery.  When you “come to the place of the light” everything seems beautiful and glowing filled with hope.  When “you're in the dense of the white everything deepens in the scene”...things around you appear darker but also filled with meaning and mystery.  Being in a dark place can create avenues to thread beauty and deep meaning.  “Clementine”, the secret love or imaginary soulmate of the narrator of the song, sets sail to the unknown out of her comfort zone to travel to the places one would never dare in waking life. “Clementine” is the union of the dark and the light, the yin and the yang, the hidden and the unveiled, masculinity and femininity.
