A photo taken years ago,
Expression of someone I used to know.
Leather only slightly scuffed,
Time will act upon it soon enough.

People embark on a path towards a destination.
A new way of being a person, they call it aspiration.
They can’t quite see when they decide,
A possible future self as a guide,
That does not yet exist … there.
Nothing to resist … there.

Anamnesis can explain,
From living memory there’s much to gain.
Walking down that road of time,
Epiphanies can be sublime.

Children come with their own life of the mind.
To the extent their created worlds get their time, the better …
Sometimes caught in an image … embedded.  Embedded.

Portraiture can project,
An off-hand confidence,
That seems impossible in retrospect,
A photographer’s lens is circumspect.
