Presenting his long awaited full-length album, the king of disco re-edits Dr Packer graces Glitterbox Recordings with six brand new mixes alongside twelve of his rare cuts and well-loved treasures. Dr Packer’s Different Strokes features Dr Packer versions of soulful house favourites, disco standards and groove-laden floorfillers. Following two DJ mixes from Dr Packer featuring bonus tracks, the album kicks off with a bonafide classic. Dr Packer’s take on Soulsearcher’s ‘Can’t Get Enough!’ maintains all its most iconic elements, the euphoric vocals and timeless groove given a fresh-sounding elasticity. Another highlight and an album exclusive, ‘Big Love’ from Peter Heller’s Big Love is brim full of Dr Packer’s unmistakeable warmth, cowbell accents giving the groove some bump. Next is Dr Packer’s remix of The Shapeshifter’s evergreen ‘Lola’s Theme Recut’ followed by another album exclusive, Candi Staton’s ‘Hallelujah Anyway’. Ron Hall & The Muthafunkaz featuring Marc Evans ‘The Way You Love Me’ (Dr Packer Extended Remix) is the third new cut, followed by another new remix for this album, Dr Packer’s version of Johnny Corporate’s ‘Sunday Shoutin’’, picking up the pace with a funking bassline to suit any dynamic disco set. More highlights include Dr Packer’s versions of ‘When Love Breaks Down’ by The Shapeshifters featuring Teni Tinks and ‘Set It Out’ from Purple Disco Machine & Boris Dlugosch, both brand new remixes. UK talent Josh Butler has made a rapid ascension since he burst onto the scene in 2013, winning coveted awards from Beatport and DJ Mag. He now brings his production prowess to Hot Creations, delivering a club ready two-parter for his debut EP on the label.

Title track Anonymous is made for low ceiling, sweaty basements with its deep, growling bass and select vocal cuts. Doesn’t Work swiftly follows suit, delivering another dose of rolling, after-hours goodness. A mainstay in the industry, having released on labels such as Cuttin Headz, Relief and Desolat, Andrea Oliva steps up for the remix of Anonymous with an acidic bassline and lively breakdown that diffuses into a carnival of synths.

Since emerging on the scene back in 2013 with his debut Got A Feeling on MTA Records, Josh Butler has firmly established himself as a musical force to be reckoned with. Releases followed on coveted labels such as Kaoz Theory, Rejected and Cajual. In 2016, Butler also launched his own highly regarded imprint, Origins.

Swedish producer Tiger Stripes, the alias of Mikael Nordgren, brings his techno touch to Hot Creations for his debut EP on the label this summer. Jack My Yum is a heavyweight three-parter that sees the Swede invite Hot Creations stable mate, Matt Tolfrey, to provide a stellar remix.

Opening track Jack My Yum is a warped and heavy roller with a smattering of dark vocals. Haunted brings with it a bass that you can feel reverberating off the concrete walls of a darkened club, interspersed with an eerie melody. Following his recent release Americas on the label, Leftroom Records boss Matt Tolfrey brings his groove and a bouncier bassline to proceedings with his version of the title track. Dunjacka completes the EP, with Nordgren sewing together a techno beat with broken vocal stabs, underpinned by a throbbing groove throughout.

Tiger Stripes has collaborated with legendary names such as Kerri Chandler, Adeva, Leroy Burgess, Riva Starr and Jerome Sydenham, with his brand of deep and futuristic techno seeing releases on some of the underground’s biggest imprints including Desolat, Drumcode and Cajual.
