Aganis

AGANiS is an album inspired by water and rivers. It's a sonic journey that originates at the source and flows into the sea. It's a meeting between nature and technology. 

You can listen to AGANiS in two different ways: 
1. Deep listening (recommended) - Just take a little break, sit or lay on the couch and focus on the sounds. You could use headphones or stereo speakers and you may close your eyes. 
2. Ambient listening - Put the album in the background and do your usual stuff while listening.

This album is born from a live performance in which all sounds are generated on the spot with water filled aquariums, synthesizers and drum machines. Aquariums are used as a musical instrument, played with a violin bow or a drummer's brush and struck as if they were a gong or a percussion.The sound of water is omnipresent and appears under various shades. The recordings were made at the Accademia di Montegral at the start of the pandemic in 2020 and the album was mastered by DDA mastering. 
Among the artists who inspired this project we find: Jon Hopkins, Four Tet, Brian Eno and Aphex Twin. Aganis fits into the electronica, ambient and IDM genres while maintaining a very strong personal imprint due to the unusual nature of the instrument.

A friend and colleague, we first met in 2019 while collaborating on a record project for Biodiversità Records,, and this year we’ve come together again to develop a new album for the same label, and an installation-based performance connected.
Active in the field of experimental music for over a decade, Cecchitelli has released numerous works worldwide.
His creative approach is a form of plastic composition, guided by imaginative intuition and spontaneity, always rooted in deep listening. At times obscure yet quiet, at others meditative yet vulnerable

Episode 03 of Heka x Fade features Demetrio Cecchitelli: continuing our exploration of deep listening and auditory poetics, this set delves into the three-dimensionality of sound, ranging from contemporary sound art to electroacoustic experiments, and even touching on dub-infused textures.

Demetrio Cecchitelli is a musician/sound artist whose practice is applied in the contexts of live performance, installation, radio, and the audiovisual. Over the last decade, Cecchitelli's works have been published worldwide and have been presented in venues, festivals, platforms, and centers for art and sound. 
Focused on principles of semantic interpretation, ontology, and imaginative poetics, his Research is based on various methods of electronic transformation and instrumentation. A means that coexist in the creative and compositional process, giving a strong combination of sonic memory and deep listening as an integral part of a spontaneous plastic language.

Heka is a living ecosystem where unconventional sounds are explored and active listening is encouraged. Artists are free to express themselves, to search without boundaries, to connect with the audience.

Dominic Sambucco is an Italian-Canadian sound artist, composer and film-maker.

He holds a degree in electroacoustic composition from the Université de Montréal and a diploma in modern guitar from the Music Academy of Rimini. Through electroacoustic music and multimedia art projects, he consistently seeks to push the boundaries of conventional artistic expression. His æsthetic is inspired by nature and science, and is characterized by the innovative use of acoustic instruments and new technologies.

Sambucco is also an accredited sound designer for films and video-games, a professional guitar player and an experimental film-maker.
