🥸 ----------------- this is a Thursday night closing set i played from like 1:30am to 3am at the last  @lovelessrecords party at Heaven (fka Las Vegas)

Legit had so much fun playing vaguely downtempo kitchen sink freak jams for the like 20 friends and strangers there 🎃 This recording is missing a DJ Deeon cut up top out of @evkh set (forgot to record) and I fully intended upon playing Willie Colon's "Set Fire To Me (Inferno Dub)" AND Steve Miller Band Like an Eagle at the end but I ran outta time milking Moby's interdimension mix of the B-52s "Is That You Mo-Dean?"  when like ten people showed up on the dance floor in the last 20 minutes and started to waltz together. EDIT: oh fuck it tacked on those two tracks this is the directors cut ppl

lets see I also left the dub echo on for like 2 min somewhere in here, played some bass stuff up top just for @figur36 , and the headphone cue on the mixer stopped working halfway through -- i had a blast 🤤 thx @drvmmy for the ones and twos

"Commanding a space within the deeper realms of techno, vinyl only DJ, producer and record label owner Mary Yuzovskaya has been cultivating her unique orbit in the electronic dance music firmament for over 16 years.

Starting her journey as a DJ in the mid-2000s, Mary found herself in Berlin, where she received recognition for both her blisteringly-precise vinyl-only techno sets and her painstakingly professional approach to the craft of DJing. After relocating to NYC in 2013 Mary quickly became a key figure in the US scene, performing regularly at different venues including multiple residencies at some of the city’s institutional parties like Unter, where she was a staple for three years, as well as working as a vinyl distribution manager at renowned Brooklyn-based record shop Halcyon. Back in Berlin since 2020, Mary solely runs her very own record label called Monday Off, launched in 2017, where she curates and presses work from artists that explore techno's trippier, more hypnotic side. 

Mary has been busily traveling the world and performing her unique take on techno music’s psychedelic vibes at many noted clubs and parties across the world, including Basement (NY), Berghain/Panorama Bar, Carbone (Paris), Compound (LA), Gare (Porto), IFZ (Leipzig), Kablys (Vilnus), OHM (Berlin), Output (Brooklyn), Rote Sonne (Munich), RSO and Tresor (Berlin), to name only a few. Mary's productions are released on such labels as Kvalia, Mnestic, Semantica, System Revival as well as her own Monday Off imprint."

Sally Caithness also known professionally as Sally C was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and got into DJing while living in Dundee Scotland, but Sally has always had a strong foothold in her current residence of Berlin where she has lived since 2015. Having played all over the city it wasn't long before she was throwing out lengthy sets in Griessmuehle, Saule at Berghain and Melt! with sets at Panorama Bar and more worldwide ahead its become clear she is alot more than one of the new up and coming names in dance. Having taken early inspirations from DJ's like Fast Eddie, Tyree and K-Hand, her sets have a driving energy with a US pulse that almost feel like you have been lassoed on to the dance floor. This energy is definitely a big part of her production style too with her excellent imprint Big Saldo's Chunkers which were instant sell out's worldwide. Who are you? Where do you live?

I’m Oscar Huang and I’m from Pasadena, CA. I currently reside in Ridgewood, NY

Favorite venue in the world?

I really loved Plastic People (UK) when it was around but, probably Nowadays (NY) or what my friends like to call it, “The Nest!"

Track of the summer?

Can’t choose a track but, my boy Will DiMaggio’s “At Ease” out now on Future Times is the album of the year for sure!

What do you wish to see in the future for the dance community?

At a high level, I’d like to see some changes to the laws that make putting on events so challenging; not just here in NY but, all over the world. There’s a lot of vision out there that can’t catch a break because of the financial risks or the legal hurdles involved. Creating a culture and environment that permits resource constrained parties to flourish would allow more communities and inviting spaces built on love and mutual respect to properly thrive.

Fav late night snack?

Ice Cream! Or instant noodles with everything in the fridge when I feel like really misbehaving.

Hi my name is Joey.  My hometown is Birmingham, MI.  I currently live in Hamtramck, a small city within the city of Detroit. One fun fact is that I never went to Senior Prom!


If you could place a dj booth anywhere in the world… where would it be & what would you play?

On a blimp and I would fly it around blasting beats


Favorite collective/scene at the moment?

Lately ive been even more in love with Detroit and all the artists that live here.... Could write a book on it! But elsewhere I love everything Mdo/Sample Park/Terry Radio/West Mineral/Kansas people are doing - love the sound the aesthetic and the energy.  Seems like cool stuff is going on in Toronto, Montreal, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia. Also love the Base Camp Beta podcasts - hearing a lot of great people discuss the contemporary scene/industry/landscape. 


Earliest musical memory?

Singing & dancing to my parents Was Not Was/Sade/Steely Dan records with one of those big bright plastic kiddie microphones.

Hey, my name is Miah Benton aka ADAB. I’m Chicago born, Cleveland raised, and currently Pittsburgh based. A fun fact about myself is that I’m largely identifiable by my weird pants people see me wearing all the time.

Favorite music collective atm?

There’s a few at the moment for me actually. TUF (Seattle), Honcho (Pittsburgh), Sublimate (NYC) and Room 4 Resistance (Berlin) are all doing some of my favorite stuff right now in one way or another.

Favorite mix series?

Definitely more than one for this category as well haha. Rave Scout Cookies, Daisychain Podcast, Abstract Without Extraction, Spontaneous Affinity, Neptunian Influence,Beyond/Below,HNYPOT and Truants are a few continually putting great stuff on my radar these days.

Describe the vibe of your ideal party? Space? Smell? Drinks? Anything you can think of ;)

My ideal party is a heavily POC and Queer warehouse that smells of shea butter, Palo Santo, Sage, Leather and Latex. The decorations are a blend of pan african/afrofuturist interior design and dystopian neon lighting. And it’s BYOB but there is a juice bar to keep everyone feeling balanced.

Any ritual performed before djing? 

Every set I bring at least one african mask from my personal altar at home and set it up in the booth.

Describe the weirdest club moment you have experienced?

I was closing one of the Motherbeat parties we do in Hot Mass and at one point started to lose control of my hands via them cramping/clenching shut. Had never heard of it happening to other deejays so for a minute I was worried I was having a stroke or something lol.

Which current friends in your life inspire you on a day to day basis?

Well off top my partner Ayn aka FANA, the entirety of the In Training crew (Mx.Silkman, Father of Two, and Kiernan Laveaux),Tabasheer, Julie Mallis, Ali Berger, CCL, Russell E. L. Butler, Savile, Kamal Naeem, Eris Drew, Octo Octa, SOLD,and Hi-Vis.

Advice to beginning dj’s?

Don’t get discouraged. It’s all in the time you put in. Practice and don’t fixate on others accomplishments. And never ever be afraid to be weird...

Describe the best dj/live set you have seen this year? 

I saw a lot of great sets this year but I’ll keep it short and say seeing our beloved Eris Drew play Now Way Back as I did backstage security was a thrill.

Favorite DJ trick? 

A well placed backspin is always a ton of fun.

I’d like to see more diversity in sound,audience make up, and booking in the dance music community.In my personal opinion too much of it is still very homogeneous and doesn’t reflect the inherent diversity/resistance of this powerful form of music.
