In her artistic practice, @magda-drozd is deeply concerned with listening. The artist and musician not only investigates the ways her audience listens but also continually hones her own auditory sensibility. For her second album, 18 Floors, Drozd trained the latter on the Lochergut, an iconic residential estate in Zurich’s Kreis 4, which she called home for several years. Over the past two years, she compiled a corpus of field recordings in and of the apartment building, which became the basis for an examination of how sound produces knowledge. The result challenges current assumptions about buildings, urban living, and the ecologies of cohabitation. In the context of her project, Drozd conceives of the building as a living organism rather than a collection of static material. The field recordings served as raw material for the compositions, which were woven into eleven speculative tracks consisting of analogue and digital sounds, including violins, guitars, synthesizers, drum machines, and Drozd’s voice. The music moves between sound art, ambient, and experimental electronics, occasionally showing flashes of pop, indie rock, and R&B.

Drozd’s album, released one and a half years after the COVID-19 outbreak, could not be timelier—even though the conception of 18 Floors predates the global pandemic. The album’s actuality derives from Drozd’s sense of the importance of the home, which has become glaringly obvious in the age of Corona. She concentrated on what was close by when attention was habitually lavished on far-away places. In this process, she examined the constitution and potential of her home, and her preference for documenting what might be over what actually is defines her avant-garde attitude. The result is an album that creates a space for what is transient, uncertain, and unstable. And it creates a space for opportunities, which we need now more than ever.

18 Floors is Drozd’s second album. Her debut, Songs for Plants, was released on vinyl and digitally by Präsens Editionen in 2019. Her follow-up enters the label catalogue among releases by @samuelreinhard , @beliawinnewisser , @martina-lussi , and Leo Hoffmann.

Following his appearance on the compilation 'Under Stars / Shells In Colour,' Copenhagen's Schacke presents his first unaccompanied work for Posh Isolation in the form of 'Moments Forever Fading.'

Taking inspiration from a trip to South Korea, 'Moments Forever Fading' sees the revered techno musician and Fast Forward member pivot towards a quieter form of introspection and release. The antics of the club are spared, though we are no less absorbed in the emotive surrender.

Diagnostic and Æthereal Arthropod are two of the main players in the contemporary industrial, experimental, and noise scene in Europe, the former being one of the projects of the Belgian sound/graphic designer Jan Robbe (UndaCova, Atomhead, Erratic), and the latter being the moniker of the Spanish musician Nestor Peixoto Aballe, who responsible is for some of the harshest outings in the post-club community such as the releases on Genot Centre, Quantum Natives, and many more.

Their artistic relationship dates back to at least 2016 when Nestor's Hydra's Amaranthine Invigoration two-tracker saw the light on Entity Records, an mp3/ogg netlabel co-founded by Robbe together with Nico De Gols that was born on the ashes of the previous incarnation Tinnitus (reportedly dead in 2003 because of a server problem). Three years later, in May 2019, the two musicians spent a few days together at Robbe's place in Deinze, Belgium that ended up in several minutes of collaborative material which has since then been shaped up in their first record together, called RELIC and out on Friday, May 7th (#BANDCAMPFRIDAY!) on the artists' Bandcamp pages.

Mastered by GianMaria Dell'Aera at Dadub Studio, RELIC collects the results of multiple sessions of modular improvs and vocal fx recording that have been manipulated over the course of the next two years in the shape of a chimeric, alien flow of sound, all wrapped up into 5 track with ominous titles such as Eternal Return of the Derelict Species, The Detrimental Axis of Brutalism, etc. The record lives out of the overlap between Robbe's of radical, harsh industrial music and Nestor's beastly, grinding vocal tracks. As reported by the authors themselves, the work has been shaped around the envisioning of a long-lost, advanced extraterrestrial civilization destroyed by the magnitude of an extinction-level event, and the effects of said terror on the inner functioning of the few survivors' psyches.

Diagnostic and Æthereal Arthropod indulge in the evocation of obscure back-to-primitiveness rituals by means of guttural vocals, and oscillating infra-bass tides while simultaneously infiltrating into the mangy remainings of the inhabitants' sense of being via piercing, blade-sharp noise bursts. Today, we're glad to present you a 5-minutes excerpt out of the EP, namely the third piece called PSXLM (Psalms to the Forgotten), which represents the no-return point inside the alien ceremony that will take you to decaying landscapes of distorted fear.

The Italian multidisciplinary platform FLUX presents its second release, Noise Ausstellung, a split EP from Huren and Tomohiko Sagae, with remixes from Imminent and Sirio Gry J. This release also features collaborations with Nullam Rem Natam, American video maker, graphic designer and fanzine writer Temple Ov Saturn, Italian video artist Eleonora Roaro and Erminio Granata (11xxx27, 1/2 of Hyperlacrimae, Infidel Bodies). 

Today we present the music video for “Pile Driver #1”, a brvtal work of cacophonous, convulsing rhythmic noise from the Japanese artist combined with spine-chilling visuals from Temple Ov Saturn.

With Assembler, his second full-length album, Yen Tech re emerges in ecstatic and primordial new form -- a multi-layered and interwoven work that blends futuristic production, meta-science fiction, and anthropic critique into a dizzying array of next scenarios -- a maze-like vision of our technological and exponentially oracular, full-stack future.

This imagined future becomes a construct or place in itself; one in which the record buzzes and swarms; a mechanosphere of towering melodic vocal samples and sound design - all narrated by Yen Tech's unnerving, diaristic vocals - as he channels the form of post-human techno cretin, whispering hyperbolic ASMR to no one in particular. We follow this character from one disorienting experience to the next as he recites a stream of indecipherable neologisms and hyper-descriptives, the existential residue seeping from every line. In the end though, a strange, uneasy beauty comes into focus; the metamorphic lyrics and musical euphorias revealing Assembler as a type of elegy: a wet glass reflection of the failures of what we are and were - and a jubilant celebration of what we may become.

"I imagined Assembler as a type of self imposed simulation, an invisible boundary that the narrator has to navigate out of to move forward. It was a way of looking at how we may carry the issues and failures of the past with us into the future. The psychological baggage of history, the guilt of geotrauma, the addictive melange of technology all become dealt with in this stage of acceptance and recovery. I wrote the album with this in mind, a process to find the slimy pearl of who we are" - Yen Tech

Hi! Thanks to my fans & soundcloud for helping me get my login back so quickly. I wanted to post something now that it's back in my hands. Here's a cover of ~Voices Carry~. I've played it live a few times this year. It's always been one of my favorite songs but it's kind of deeply personal to me,lyrically. I recorded this in one day when a engineer had a room at Sunset Sound available.He let me use the studio for free as a favor, some of my friends came in and played the bass/guitar/drums for me after calling them 45 minutes before asking if they could try playing random stuff for me to work with/write on. Nobody has produced it (except me... I guess but this version isn't produced or mixed.It also doesn't have the synths & guitars I added today. I am out of the country so my computer keeps crashing.)I didn't want to wait until I was back to upload something. I have no idea what this sounds like in speakers either lol. This is what I call the infant demo because it's basically the scratch demo since it hasn't really been worked on & what not. It's also the only thing I can post without getting in trouble by other people involved on other songs.I promise I will be posting a lot more stuff on here & will let you know more about my album. I always feel a lot more comfortable sharing music related things here instead of Instagram etc

"After the development of simulation technologies up to their physical limit, a constant unavoidable phenomenon was discovered. It interfered with the interaction topology of any two variable agents within a given system. 

This phenomenon of unknown nature, which prevented two polar values ​​from complementation and mutual trans-cyclic transformation was named Veil. 

Veil creates boundaries within the relations of elements in any semi-physical system. Thus, it creates and conditions the variety of forms and phenomena, while also implying an interior realm, which implements its own ontology. There are strange clouds of information in this ontology, we called them Chrono Chambers – negative reality pockets or discarded realities. You may find more in the Veil Theory Log. 

The executive module of the meta-programming SAI-cores (Shifting Anti-Entropic Intelligence) found a way to access these realities. A project aimed at studying this phenomenon was conceived. It went under the code name Chronogears Initiative. 

After the eighth stage of the project launch, the systems encountered unforeseen difficulties. The Root Data Source collapsed and caused the Sphere to collide with [transmission error]

Once again, the label gathered the dark souls of hybridized club sounds, and asked them to contribute with tracks inspired by the main theme of a record: facing their own anger and fears.

*Raised funds will be send to support Ciocia Czesia, an informal collective based in Czechia which helps obtaining legal and safe abortions to people with uteruses from Poland. The initiative was born after Poland’s controversial, politically driven Constitutional Tribunal ruled that abortions for “fetal abnormality” (the reason for 90 percent cases currently performed in the country) were illegal, thereby making it almost impossible to undergo. Ciocia Czesia supports mentally, logistically, and financially.
