The second serving from the Melbourne 5-piece portrays a different side to the group. Trading the lap steel for a fuzzed-out Stratocaster, the track turns to a garage punk style, differing from the dark and distorted blues that the band has become well known for around the Melbourne music scene.

An Ode To My Future

Drawing inspiration from artists such as The Drones, Grinderman and many of the old blues greats, Matt Bourke has created his own blend of dirty, blues driven rock 'n' roll. The Delusional Drunks bring a raw and uncontrollable energy to the stage, whilst still remaining as a tight-knit workhorse, working towards building a wall of organised chaos.

With performances at festivals such as Meadow and Winter Wild, as well as sold out shows across Melbourne and Geelong, The Delusional Drunks have hit the ground running post pandemic.

Bourke’s song writing style is often tongue-in-cheek, at times pushing the boundaries of social norms and lyrical traditions. Drawing upon personal experiences and expanding the truth to create a captivating story, the tales range from stories of growing up in a small country town to murder ballads. You never know where you’ll end up in the twisted song writing of the Delusional Drunks.

After making the move from the isolated town of Aireys Inlet to cut their teeth in the Melbourne music circuit, the band are steadily building a loyal fan base, making their way through Melbourne’s dingiest venues.
