Overmono is the UK sibling duo of Tessela and Truss, aka Ed and Tom Russell. As individuals, they have embodied everything that is exciting about the English underground for the last few years on labels like R&S, Perc and their own Poly Kicks. Now, combined as a live duo, they are making widescreen techno for XL Recordings that is informed by a ravey past and always comes on strong. 

In the club their shows are arresting affairs cooked up on an array of hardware tools. You can catch this show at Dekmantel Festival this year but for their podcast, they enter DJ mode and serve up eighty minutes of the sort of beats that colour their own sounds. Far from an all out techno assault, it is a well balanced trip through reflective metal breakbeats, deep pulsing kicks and experimental electronic ambiance that leaves you suspended in space one moment and tethered firmly to the dance floor the next. Unfolding with a spaced out and dreamlike feel, this is techno but not as we know it.

Following on the heels of releases on labels as Etruria, Cocoon and Elevate, italian-based DAST makes his debut on OFF Recordings.

The EP kicks off with "Raid Zone", a classic and timeless piece of spacy bigroom chord techno.

"System Failure" with its unsettling lead takes things more towards the latenight realm.

And Juan Sanchez delivers an even more stomping and peaktime interpretation of "Raid Zone", perfect to "destroy" festival dancefloors.

This time is Ricardo Rodrigues AKA Industrialyzer who lands on the court of Damon Wild with three tracks perfectly aliened with the label's philosophy, Synewave has been at the service of real techno for over 20 years. 

It all begins with "Analogue Planet" a 130 bpm journey which rouses the dance floor whilst stimulating the mind, giving both of them no mercy. 

The second track, "Multiple Walls", carries the flavour of an Old School small march with a hammondesque synth which revolves around the groove from beginning to end. 

The atmosphere becomes dark and acid in the third and final track on this release. "Orbit X" is an emotional roller coaster which develops in different phases, everyone of which takes the listener by surprise. 

With this release Industrialyzer reminds us that, after all, New York, Detroit, Chicago, Berlin, Amsterdam or Lisbon don't really matter, quality techno is a global affair and Synewave consistently confirms this with releases above all schemes, movements and trends. Monumental.
