"Jota de Rio de Onor" is a traditional song that was played and sung by Juan Prieto Ximeno, a bagpiper that used to live in Rio de Onor, which is a village placed in the region of Bragança, Trás os Montes. Half of this village is portuguese and the other half is spanish, which explains why the lyrics are half in portuguese and half in spanish. This man remains a huge inpiration for portuguese bagpipers.

Cataventos presents as a portuguese identity music project in which many different influences get along through the sensitivity and experience of its musicians: portuguese and other countries traditional music get together with other modern genres through portuguese traditional instruments such as bagpipes, traditional precussions, cavaquinho and campaniça guitar, to which the vocals are added, to create original compositions and re-create songs and music that already exist.
