Antrim returns to the label after two years with a sensational new EP.

Getting his big break back in 2013, by Nick Warren selecting his 'Blow Your Mind' track for his Renaissance CD mix set the scene for the ambitious Argentinian. A DJ since he was 14, music was always going to be his career. Now signed to everyone from Beat Boutique to UV by way of seminal labels such as Hope Recordings and Plattenbank, the Antrim sound permeates dance floors the world over.

Opening with 'Stax' we're quickly immersed in a soundscape of warm melodies and crunchy drums. Analogue-y and raw, the tracks glides along with ease. Synth sweeps ebb and flow like ocean waves breaking on the shore giving urgency when needed. Next up, 'Summer Morning' continues the warm, early floor vibe. Spiky synths brace against snappy percussive layers creating an organic drive and tension. Vocals midway lift the track into hands-in-the-air territory. Finally, 'The Ocean Sun' closes the EP in fine form. Raw, crunchy drums form the bedrock once more, quickly followed by deep and uplifting pads. Dreamlike throughout, the track develops into an early morning smile-inducer with nods of early Orbital.

Spencer Brown and Ezequiel Arias collaborate for the first time on 'Mad Rush'. 

The US artist has made big strides in recent years. A Duke University graduate, he got his big break touring with Acivii and Above & Beyond while still a student. Since then, he's releases for Anjunadeep, LNOE and more and continued to tour the world taking in major festivals such as Tomorrowland, EDC and Creamfields and headlining clubs as far-flung as India, Brazil and Australia. 

Fellow future hero, Ezequiel Arias has graced the label a number of times, his panoramic soundscapes and creative beats finding their home in DJs playlists the world over. A prolific producer, he has releases covering many big imprints including Replug, Anjunadeep, and ICONYC to name but a few. 

'Mad Rush' begins hypnotically. Plucky polyrhythms plunder the senses as percussive power surrounds. Growing organically to a place of euphoria, piano chords rain out amid showers of reverbed white noise signalling the whole rooms united desire to touch the stars. 'Slow Burn does exactly what it says. Starting ambiantly, percussive layers grow the energy over the opening section. With the bass comes new plateaus and stylish sonic sublayers that fill out the melodics. Reaching critical mass by the main break, orchestral pads create a calm before all hell breaks loose in the second half. Absolute progressive mastery.

Paul Deep continues developing his repertoire and returns to the label with 'Mind Destructor'.

Its been a busy few years for the Argentinian artist since his last appearance in 2020. Signings to The Soundgarden, Mango Alley and Tale&Tone have kept his diverse fanbase, including high profile stars such as Eelke Kleijn and Maceo Plex, updated. 

Opening with the tough chunky groove of 'Mind Destructor', were quickly up to speed. Content to find its place on the floor and slowing intensify, the track grows organically over the first half with subtle synth lines powering forward. In the break, they reach fever pitch before the beat drops and room erupts, arms aloft. 

'Amenotejikara' takes a deeper, more melodic path. Airy atmospheres and percussive energy lead the way as synths creep into earshot adding tension. The ebb and flow of the arps gives palpable release to the tension. A true progressive earworm.  

Rounding out the EP, 'Indigo' continues the subtle carnival flavours with a groovy bongo-led closer. A more pronounced bassline from the drop, gritty saw-toothed edginess bites in the low end as one-shots and an eerie vocal provides high frequency ear candy.

The latest installment of our free download series welcomes Onurcan Kaya with his take on ‘Massive’ by Drake. The Turkish artist first emerged in 2021 with a release via 4or Records, a release which would make him a name to watch in the world of melodic house and techno. The next two calendar years would see Onurcan add Astral Records, Melodic Room and VTOPIΛ to his resume, in turn earning support from Fideles, Kevin de Vries, Øostil and Tale Of Us, among others. Also an accomplished DJ, Onurcan has been a fixture of his country’s nightlife of late, programming music for some of Turkey’s trendiest venues. A recent highlight of Onurcan’s sets has been his much requested rendition of Drake’s ‘Massive’. As the second single from the Canadian hiphoper’s 2022 album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’, the track would go on to achieve critical and commercial success, ultimately peaking at #2 in the UK dance charts and #11 on Billboard’s Electronica Hot Dance. Terminal Caribe is the newest album of Santi & Tuğçe who weave timeless, borderless melodies with global, dance floor rhythms. Similar to their previous releases which take listeners on a sonic adventure all the way from the coasts of the Black Sea to the Parana River, Terminal Caribe presents a peculiarly personal, yet undoubtedly universal odyssey exploring the deep interrelations between music, movement, and memory. Named after a bus stop where the duo had the initial inkling for this album, Terminal Caribe serves as the point of departure for an entrancing journey through a wildly varied world of sound. Soulful melodies, captivating harmonies, colorful orchestration, polyrhyhmic percussions and marimbas, and deep bass lines combine with heartwarming vocals and the sounds of sea to tell a tale that is at once epic, melancholic, spacy and irresistibly groovy.

Santi (from Asunción, Paraguay) and Tuğçe (from Istanbul, Turkey) left their homes to follow their dreams of music and have been road companions and musical partners for more than a decade. They collaborated on two full length-albums, four EPs and numerous singles which captivated listeners worldwide. With their 2016 EP El Regreso del Gallito, “Santi & Tuğçe rewrote Paraguayan folklore” (Thump Vice, Brazil) and with their Songs for My Grandmother, selected as one of the best albums from Turkey in 2017 by Beehype, they remade Turkish classics for contemporary audiences. Drawing on their eclectic background and constant pulse for innovation, Santi & Tuğçe once again reinvent an unpredictable and enticing soundscape of the Caribbean and beyond.
