Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2009, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, through Skankandbass Introducing we release a series of free download singles which aims to spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

Flying the underground drum & bass flag in San Francisco, Shibumi has been surely but steadily honing his craft. He has developed a sound that takes the unique West Coast flavour and melds it effortlessly into his production. 

‘Golden State Dub' is a pure homage to hip-hop sounds of the Bay Area, backed up by the absolutely weighty rumbler ‘Fillmore’. Two giant cuts that are pushing that USA sound once again.

This tune was one of the first big club tunes I really loved when I began paying attention to house music as a producer. There was something captivating and hypnotizing about the pace of the drums, vocals and that simmering bassline. In my opinion, I've given it a similarly seductive twist with dub-influenced drum and bass sounds soaked in reverb. If you caught my set at Outlook Festival in July, this is the tune that led into the drum and bass I played.
I could have easily kept this a dub for years but I'm giving it out in perpetuity to my Patreon supporters. Enjoy!
