A meditative, spacey journey (part 18)

Today is my late wife's birthday.  Her last birthday with us was in 2020.  So, if this track feels a bit more personal than most of the other Interbay tracks...that's because it is.

Sad, with some heartfelt but hard to say truths might not be your idea of birthday wishes, but I'm not sure how else to honor a day that will never be as happy as it had been before.  

I knew that I'd wanted to do a song specifically for today, but when I started the project, I assumed it would be a soft, piano-forward ballad.  The fact that it starts with music box and dark strings sent me on another path altogether.  You get to about 2/3rds of the way through the song, and suddenly you're in a mystery thriller and who knows what might be lurking behind every shadow.  Who can say if you're in danger or if you're just scaring yourself.

It was not my intention to bring everyone down with this track.  However, it certainly was my intention to express myself within the context of the music that I make.  And, as you know, some Interbay tracks end up being a path to more insights and expressions than others.

I think the track itself says anything else I would want to say about it, so let's post a smaller description than normal, today.  (My gift to you, I suppose. ;) )

I would appreciate you giving "Birthday Wishes" a listen.  I know it might be hard to "like" a song that is a bit darker and depressing than you'd typically find here, but if you think it was well done, give it a like for that.  Obviously, you reposting it, sharing it, adding it to a playlist, and/or commenting on it..all that or any of that would be welcome.
