Now you’re constantly busy trying to tie up all the loose ends.  
You have so many domestic chores to do on your weekends. 

Somewhere along the way it became hard make new friends
That’s not the way it used to be. 
The world’s a crowded place, full of so many people.
But sometimes you feel like the only fish in the sea.

People without kids who have dogs, they think it’s the same thing
You can leave you dog home alone
 but you can’t do that with your offspring
You miss those days when you could tear up your plans and act spontaneously
Now you have to juggle so many things simultaneously

You used to strut around like a free-range rooster 
Now you’re laying eggs in a cramped cage
Your life’s an unwritten book 
But every day you’re stuck on the same page 

You pick up a half empty glass of milk and you try to tell yourself it’s half full
