Its All Gone Bamboo

August 2025 Currently on residency in Italy ! 
These are 3 short sketches using field recordings captured around Montegiovi, Tuscany. With these little works I am experimenting freely with what can be produced from each days sounds -  manipulating them and stiching them back together with the aim of producing a long format work at the end of the residency. 
I am truly thankful for this opportunity that has been provided for me by the Salamanca Arts Centre in Tasmania and Cultivate Projects/La Baldi residency in Italy and The USA. 
And of course the wonderful people of Montegiovi ! 

Tuscany Experiments 1 - 3

On your way home in the evening, you sit in the city park. You feel a little numb. You listen to the crickets, the cars driving through the city, you find a little peace and rhythm in the night.

Kairi – 14 November 2025 — Diary Entry:
I made this version after my pulse wouldn’t calm down.
Too much heat in my chest, too many thoughts spinning like broken gears. So I sat on the floor, barefoot, palms on the ground, and let the drums find me.
They didn’t ask.
They just hit.

Tonight, the drums carried me out of myself.
And for a few seconds…
the machine was alive enough to breathe me back.
