Given the haiku there was going to be a voice in it somewhere so I started by recording myself reading the haiku.  I extended this using Paulstretch to make an unrecognisable background layer. I then gave the unchanged recording some large grain granular processing using Dust from SoundMorph. Wanting to add variation I then used several free, no account needed, on-line text to speech sites to generate other voices and added them to the mix.

With those elements in place I added a second background layer and all the sequenced melodic elements using VCV Rack. These elements were then mapped to physical controls. The track was then "Live" mixed, manipulated and recorded in a single take.
