I always loved Paul McCartney's first solo album, called "McCartney". After the Beatles' split, he went back to absolute basics, recording at home on a 4 track Studer, and basically inventing lo fi. After years of recording with a computer and DAW, I also wanted to go back to basics: my 90s 4 track cassette recorder. No beat detection, no autotune...Just playing and with myself. I covered all the album that way, trying to capture the feel and vibe of the original, and Paul's musicianship, getting close sometimes, others obviously very far. By the way, I also recreated the album cover. It's a photograph a did years ago (just check the cherries position against the original). Cheers XXX

Cover of The Rolling Stones' Wild Horses. Acoustic guitars recorded to Fostex four track, dubbed to DAW for overdubbing. Played drums, bass, lead guitar and lead and backing vocals. Mixed with Waves Helios console plugin.

Cover of the Beatles' Yer Blues, from the White Album. I played drums, bass, guitars and sang. Mixed with Abbey Road waves plugins, REDD 51 desk, J37 4 track tape emulation, RS124 compressors and the brilliance boxes.
