Mark and Shyla welcome Ward 5 resident and filmmaker Katie Lannigan to the coal mine.

After stints in Al Jazeera's Investigative Unit and PBS Frontline in Boston, Katie is now directing her own documentary film here in N.E. DC.  
 
I spent time filming with her crew and grew connected to the project by hearing the residents own voices illustrate just how challenging life in a changing DC can be.

We sit to discuss how the film will help uncover the nuanced process of redeveloping vulnerable areas in Washington, DC.
