00:26:25	Angela Merkert:	New issues with Zoom--camera and audio frozen.  We are pre-filing today with 2 pieces of legislation--one into each chamber.  We have 4 sponsors, co-sponsors.  The 2024 session which is 30 days, opens at noon next Tuesday.  It will be intense on the schedule to get through 2 committees/chamber and the to the House and Senate floor votes.  But we're moving it forward.  We have gone deeper in the legislation in detailing more of the capitalization.  That has taken time to work through finer details--all good.

00:59:33	Angela Merkert:	We are addressing segments of the NM bank charter requirements that don't work for a state bank within the PB legislation.  Getting all of those major questions dealt with up front.  In consultation with the division that charters banks and the state treasurer, along with Gov staff.
01:15:41	Mike Beilstein, Marge Stevens-Corvallis OR:	I am concerned about the "white moderate" influence on the New Jersey document. The white moderate concept was addressed by Martin Luther King in his letter from the Birmingham jail. I describes a position of an overly slow and cautious approach to justice issues which need immediate attention. Public banking could be seen as a social justice issue whose time has come, and should not be delayed by too moderate approaches.
