Behind this set...

Sebastian sadly passed on my birthday last year, he was my favourite producer, and little did I know at the time, it would also be the last day that I would also see one of my dear friends alive and would be the start of a series of traumatic experiences.  Shortly after, I recorded the first version of this mix, but, the string of events that had started to unfold for me  eventually pushed me to completely give up on music, I couldn’t even listen to it, never mind play it.  I was broken, physically, mentally and spiritually.  Everyone and everything I believed in would be tested and would haunt me for many months afterwards.. needless to say the mix got deleted, I hung up my headphones and didn’t touch the decks again for 5 months.  

With the encouragement of those beautiful souls who believed in me and encouraged me to keep trying… eventually I found the courage. Months later I finally downloaded a bunch of tunes and within 20 minutes randomly hit record and played .. somehow by the end, I had produced a mix. That was “ Another Time, Another Place”. I hadn’t even played the songs or heard some of them for months.. what happened was a gift given to me.   I had somehow managed to take one small step back.. but I still was not sure I could continue and kept putting off my return to my residency.  All the light and my enjoyment of music had disappeared.. but those delicate embers of belief and love would not give up on me, and slowly, with the help and support of my dearest friends the flame of creativity began to return.  The ideas started to flow, the feelings started to return.  The belief began to burn.  The mixes started to flow. 
So when I was asked to do a mix with very little time for the Subcode 4th birthday, I knew I could not, not do it, but also had no idea what to do.. randomly,  the thought dropped  that I needed to revisit this mix, and now was the right time to do so. So, after 8 months I’ve finally been able to complete this, and it also feels like closure.  The circle is now complete.

3759 - The Ether Sessions #7 Subcode Residency 21.06.2025

In this recent blessed but chaotic week 😆🤩  I played live at our annual gathering at Owls , and because my friends hadn’t been able to make it to Ravin for Rob I decided to expand my set “The Grid” and Hannah-Rose my daughter wanted to hear me playing it live.
So I took some tunes that have meant a lot to me recently, some that are also in a set that will be released very soon 😉. I built the vibe in the first hour up ready to lay down “ The Grid”. “Mr Brightside” for the win btw, and the epic drop and vibes in “Never Gets Old “ will just always stay with me!! 🤩💖🙌🙌

I felt so blessed and lucky to be surrounded by my dear friends as we danced outside under the stars and the full moon 🌕 ✨✨

What can I say about “ Orbes De La Nuit”
Well, the name came months ago, the same time as 3759 in fact.  Back then, I didn’t know which set was going to happen first, as it turned out, then it was 3759, and then “Orbes”,  now fondly nicknamed, just sat quietly in the background, gnawing away at my consciousness.  I had no idea when it would step forward again, no clear understanding of what would happen on this journey until last week. Or more precisely, at the peak time of the Lion’s Gate Portal, 8th August, not that I realised that till after. 
I was preparing for my party at the weekend, and very mindful of my residency following a week later,  so I downloaded a bunch of tunes that have been following me around for a while. When I plugged in my decks I realised I had a problem with my crossfader…. Hmmmm .. so now I had to work with the channels, running out of time to seriously work on the sculpting of any set, I threw all the tunes I had just bought, plus several that I wanted to play again, and hit record and played. 
What happened, was for me, magical and when I stopped,  I realised I had been going for 3 hours.  I  had, what I term,  been  “free falling “ into the music and into the story of this set, no planning, no prep, no practise.  It was beautiful, I felt completely free.. and as soon as I stopped recording, I knew this was “Orbes De La Nuit” , finally,  it had found its roots and anchor. 
It wasn’t till later, I realised it was the 8/8 portal and lead up to the full moon.  That made the experience even more magical.

The story behind this creation is too big and epic to explain here… so,  for this moment, and at this time, just enjoy the ride, the journey, the vibration, the love, the healing.  

Let it seep into the deepest depths of your soul.  Live in the vibration and the feelings it awakens ... Maybe one day I will illuminate the beauty of the experience, but for now, today is not that day.

“Aahmatakya” is a word not of this dimension or plane. It is a word that came to me the first time I spoke light language. It means “The Kiss", it represents a vibrational kiss of healing. 
It took me about 2 weeks to be able to pronounce it properly  after the first time I spoke it 🤣 and there is another story.. when I had to prepare my set for the reconnect gig, the great universal law would not allow me to produce anything different. I was supposed to play this live, and when I finally gave into this idea, the rework flowed like magic 🪄 ✨
A different start, a different ending, speed up here, more base there and bring the melodic in differently etc and so on …  it was like I was the conductor, the tracks were my orchestra. So this was the result. This is Aahmatakya - Live Rework for Reconnect White Party and September 2025 Subcode Residency.
