The talent, simply known as “Shaleeyah” to her growing fan base, is from Orange, New Jersey. She lived there until she was 15, then moved to Newark, New Jersey. She is a multi-talented artist who can sing, rap, act, model, dance, and song write.
She says her biggest musical influences are Michael Jackson, Beyonce’ and Aaliyah. “My best fan and supporter was my grandmother, Dorothy Chapman,” she said. “I remember doing little shows for her. That encouraged me, especially since I really wasn’t outgoing at the time, growing up.” Sometimes, she describes herself as an overthinker and an introvert, “who sang her way out of her shell.”
