The first demo for this song was recorded by Louisa Stancioff after a canoe trip with family and friends in 2014. On the demo, Louisa played all the instruments and sang all the parts herself. The arrangement has remained mostly intact, although the key was changed from A to C flat. 

This particular recording was tracked in part at a mountain house in Maggie Valley, NC. The house was broken into, and used without the consent of the owners. The recording was finished in a practice room in the fourth floor of the Simmons Center at the College of Charleston.

Dyado(pronounced dee-yah-dough) is the project of east coast songwriters Louisa Stancioff and Matt Lohan. The two are cousins who reconnected later in life, and bonded over playing classic country, and writing songs. Together, they have crafted a hazy, film-grain sound that phases between dreamy California beach days, and fall fields drenched in fog. The band is currently working their second full length album with producer Malachi DeLorenzo, whose work includes "The Way We Move" and "Lost at Last" by Langhorne Slim, and the noteworthy "Mariachi Static" by Izaak Opatz.
