Jody and Jerms’ hit us with the fast paced yet emotive Winter Heart - a bittersweet song exploring loneliness and hope, rich in melody with an epic and uplifting chorus.
 
The track features acclaimed violinist Erica Nockalls.
 
Singer and lyricist Jody said: “It’s a story about never knowing where you stand in a relationship and unrequited love. Someone has already having moved on, and you’re naively hoping you’ll be back together.”
 
Now over 100 gigs into their career, the Oxford sextet continue to build on a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting live bands - and will soon be announcing a June 2025 tour.
 
After three albums, two EPS and many singles, the band are also releasing a 14-track  ‘best of’ record’ in March 2025 that will be only available on ltd edition coloured vinyl.
 
Winter Heart was recorded in October 2024 at Send Hill Studios.

Oxford sextet Jody & The Jerms’ release their first single of 2025 on Friday, February 21 Hooch and Happiness.  

A jangly blast of happiness and nostalgia, Hooch and Happiness reminisces of a more carefree time, with a beautiful melody and story from singer Jody, supported with  harmonies from Salma.

“Met you at just 17, driving around in a cloud of dreams…” sings Jody.

The band hold the late great Kirsty MacColl close to their hearts, which you can hear on this release. Hooch and Happiness was recorded at Safehouse Studios in Oxford with Mike Bannard.

Jody and the Jerms formed in 2020 in St Clements, Oxford and have already released 3 albums and performed 100s of shows and festivals across the UK and beyond.

They are gearing up for album 4 in the Summer and have a bunch of live dates between now and then starting with the O2, Oxford on Saturday.

Jody and the Jerms formed in the Summer of 2019 in Oxford, England. Their first release is a version of a 1991 B side by shoegaze rock band The Belltower - Never Going Home.

Never Going Home

Worlds Together is a song about how humans and Mother Earth are natural enemies and the collision course we are all on.  Told by a futuristic narrator looking back at modern consumerism, the track was recorded and sung live as a b side to the current single Never Going Home.
