He drifted like a tumbleweed blowin' in the wind.
Across the countryside, searchin' within.
Once in a while he'd be caught up in the 
barbed wire fence again.

Year after year his mind would slowly fade.
Not often remembering when or where he'd been.
Or if  he'd been there at all and seen 
the things he'd seen.

After awhile blowin' in the wind they'd  stop
to visit with some friends.
They'd open up the door and answer with 
a grin. They'd tell him your not welcome
here again . He'd pick up his grip and 
wonder what's with them.

or  where he'd been or what he'd said to
 them back then.
Some time ago back when.

As a drifter from a young age of 14.The bottle would become my companion I would find myself drifting into a world I call " The Morbid Maze Of Addiction". At 15 leaving a good home in Montreal heading west with my thumb out I began singing and writing songs .By 16 the dreaded needle would send me further down a road to a life of insanity Useing anything that I could find to fill the void within. Ending up in places I did and didn't want to be. Like a tumbleweed blowin across almost every State, Province, Territory and into Mexico at times. Working werever I could. A good soul by now lost in the dark was almost empty. To choose right from wrong had faded to an attitude that would worsen and brake many hearts. Hope was not totally lost. In 1999 after 20 some years of a life of abuse to myself and others. I found myself in detox centres in Winnipeg Manitoba a couple times. Finally on Dec 9th of 99 my life would change in a way I never would have thought possible. " Spirits Lost + Found " a poem I wrote just before leaving detox would turn a dream to reality. By the Grace of God and the love of people I knew and met that were clean and an understanding family I found myself in a new light. Out of the darkness I began writing songs of my exsperiences I had lived through. In 2003 I was finally recording my music. Spirits Lost + found would be the first album recorded. In 2004 with help of friends at Grassroots Sound Recording Studio just outside of Winnipeg the album " Not In Vain" and 2005 "Let It Shine" all © SACanada. Playin' solo gigs anywhere I could I was in Heaven. Life was good. Then the past would come back to haunt me. Finding I had Hep C and going through 6 months of injecting myself with interferon and anti viral meds we put it to sleep.I was one of the fortunate ones again to survive. Keeping up with clean living in 2010 the cancers would start . My prostate would go and then my throat two years later was being burnt out with radiation. My days of singing are rather limited now. So as we go through life never knowing what will be. I Pray for many that are still in the problem with addictions and what they may possibly leed to with ones health and life. I burned many a bridge along the way. But I am still here to mend them. For how long? None of us ever know. All we can do is give it our best. We all have our deamons to deal with.
