This launch occurred unexpectedly- the original plan was to create a different style song that wasn’t perreo but by mistake, the sample for “esto es para la discoteca” was heard and the muse was automatically awoken. Kennoly took the sample, made the Reggaeton beat and the first thing written was the verse; the chorus took the most time to compose because we wanted it to be catchy and in the process Sonny Music (artist & friend) sang another chorus that he had
previously written that mentioned “modo avión” and to hear that phrase everything else began to flow. The inspiration for the track is the 2006-2010 old school era of Reggaeton and how people enjoyed and danced to the music. The artists who influenced the sound include the likes of Jowell y Randy, De La Ghetto, Yaviah, Tego Calderon as well as the perreo mixes from the “DJ’s del patio” such as DJ Warner, DJ Tony (R.I.P,) DJ Motion, among others.

Born and bred in Carolina, Puerto Rico, the next promising talent to come out of the island goes by the name of Kennoly. Born Jean Carlos Melendez Downs, the up and coming artist first found his love for music at a young age in his school’s choir. From then his passion for the art has grown so much that he’s able to find his muse in all aspects of life. Recently launching his record label, Ceramica Musica, you can expect Kennoly to incorporate that Caribbean flavor to his sound with his Salsa, Dancehall, Bomba and Hip-Hop infused music.
