It’s difficult to impart the roots-steeped, road-trippin' essence of the Adam Ezra Group into a single word, but frontman Adam Ezra nonetheless keeps one in mind as something of a mantra: community.
To the musicians at the heart of AEG, community is epitomized by a belief they all share, one that has long doubled as a mission statement for the group: namely, that making music together is itself a form of grassroots organizing, capable of nothing less than changing the world. 
That Ezra and his bandmates hold sacred such an inclusive approach to their craft helps explain the gathering storm of an album that is “Hurricane Wind,” one of AEG’s most ambitious undertakings to date. Not only fan-funded, but also fan-produced, the project finds the broader AEG fan community playing a role in every step of the process from inception to its impending release on May 21st.

The ADAM EZRA GROUP has redefined and reimagined their mission to support and connect to their community during the COVID-19 epidemic. Typically, this roots-steeped, activism-inspired band is out on the road, playing over 200 shows a year. Devastated when their tour was cancelled in March, and feeling a bit down, front man Adam Ezra decided to take the show online. The Gathering Series was created and to date has reached over 12 million engaged viewers around the world. This series goes live on Facebook EVERY night at 7PM EST. Even when Adam was himself sick with COVID, or getting married, or moving across country, the show has gone on. March 12th, 2021 will be the 365th Gathering in a row!

Life Of A Thief

The Adam Ezra Group, a folk-inspired rock band from Boston, has quickly become the stuff of legend around New England.  Combining songwriting, dynamic musicianship, and often a philanthropic element at their shows, AEG has built a community of fans who will seemingly follow them to the ends of the earth. With over 200 high-energy shows a year, the Adam Ezra Group is committed to changing the world with their songs and their actions along the way. 

Ezra has also started his own non-profit organization called RallySound, and the band dedicates a huge percentage of their touring to giving back in a number of ways.  Causes run the gambit.  One day they will be raising money for an orphanage in Africa, and the next they will be helping a local community in Indiana feed their families during Thanksgiving.  Last spring they collected thousands shoes for the needy while touring with Rusted Root and The Wailers.   In recent years The Ramble, a festival they organize themselves, has raised enough money to take 14 homeless veterans off the streets and place them into safe housing, feed 20 struggling veteran families in New England for an entire year through local CSA’s, and is currently helping to build a home for a wounded vet through “Homes for Our Troops.”

With the release of The Adam Ezra Group’s latest single, “Let Your Hair Down,” produced by Shep Goodman and Aaron Accetta (American Authors, Karma Killers, Young Rising Sons), and co-written by the duo and Adam Ezra, they are setting out to help patients and families who need financial support while going through cancer treatment by donating proceeds from the song and video.  With a partnership with iHeartRadio, who will be running banner ads and PSAs across their channels on the project, the goal is to reach as many people in need as possible, while sharing their belief in the power of community and the human spirit.
