This song grew out of the quiet hours spent reading about MAVEN slipping behind Mars and falling briefly out of contact. There was something haunting in that moment, something tender about the way a machine we built could feel like a companion gone missing. NASA’s Ghost Light follows that feeling. It’s a story about watching the sky, waiting for a signal, and holding on to hope long after the world goes still.
